Our fall impact report is full of exciting news about IFB Solutions and the lives of those people we employ who are blind or visually impaired. It includes our 2017 honors and awards.

During 2016, we transformed as an organization to a new name, IFB Solutions, that unites our locations under one identity. The word “solutions” reflects our shared mission to create innovative solutions for employees, customers and the larger community.

For more than 80 years, Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind has grown as a successful manufacturer with a unique mission, a committed employer for individuals who often struggle getting a foot in the door and—through our training and services—a gateway to self-sufficiency.

A Brighter Path Foundation is the nonprofit supporting entity of Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind, funding innovative programs for people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired.

We closed Fiscal Year 2015 with more than 450 employees who are blind or visually impaired working in our three manufacturing facilities, as well as in locations across the United States serving our Base Supply Centers, IFB Optical dispensaries and IFB Solutions customers.

Each year as we prepare our Annual Report, we take time to reflect on the individuals and events that have shaped our business. For 2012, we have chosen to focus on IFB’s success in creating quality jobs for all our employees.

As IFB prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary, we are inspired by our history of creating opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired.

We are successful because we strive for excellence, and we achieve excellence because of our outstanding employees and visionary Board. Together, we made 2009 a year of impressive growth as we met the needs of our customers. In the process, we created more jobs, improved more lives, and reached out to the community with more funding for social programs.

This year, more than ever, IFB has demonstrated its long-standing commitment to making a difference in the lives of our employees and in our communities.

This past year saw IFB take steps that magnified our People Focus more than ever before. With the incredible strategic decisions by our Board and an aggressive staff, IFB reached a new plateau of achievement as People of all ages benefited from our latest initiatives.
