Payroll Administrator II

Position summary:

Member of the Finance team reporting to the Payroll Supervisor that will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s multi-state payroll of 800+ employees, provide timely and accurate financial information and participate in daily data entry Payroll processing.

Duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for preparation and processing of weekly and semi-monthly payroll for 800+ employees

Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets

Process employee data (transfers, terminations, rate increases, deductions, adjustments, etc.) and ensure changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to company policy and compliance with federal/state/local regulations

Coordinate the timely submission of garnishments to the Payroll Service Provider

Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits

Prepare and distribute detailed reports such as employee headcount, overtime, and employee metrics for government/grants/media releases

Assist the payroll supervisor with audits to ensure compliance with company policy and compliance with federal/state/local regulations

Process employee verification of employment (VOE) requests

Distribute pay stubs on site

Provide customer service to employees

Reconcile Wages Reports with quarterly tax returns

Assist with the coordination with the Payroll Service Provider of all correspondence of tax notices, W2’s, 1095’s to ensure completeness and on time compliance

Post the payrolls in the General Ledger

Assist the Payroll Supervisor with other payroll/accounting duties as needed

Skills, Experience and Education:

Associates’ Degree in Accounting/Business/Finance required or 10+ years of hands on payroll administration experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business/Finance or Payroll Professional Certification preferred

Three to five years in a payroll office performing some payroll functions, five plus years in a payroll office performing all payroll functions preferred

Strong PC and MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Word) skills, intermediate to advance skills using Excel required

Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system

Strong work ethic, ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational skills, team player and the ability to work under pressure

Ability to handle, prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment

Strong customer service and interpersonal (verbal and written) communication with all levels of customers in a diverse environment

Good language skills required. Spanish speaking a plus

Trainer

Summary Statement:  Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, the employee in this position evaluates, trains, and retrains employees to perform at their highest level of efficiency.

 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Plan, direct and control the training process for each employee.
  2. Analyze training needs to develop new training processes or modify/improve existing processes.
  3. Evaluate trainees’ performance on a regular basis using established performance indicators.
  4. Develop and maintain training records for individuals being trained; provide progress reports to manager on a regular basis.
  5. Maintain operational knowledge of all plant processes in order to effectively train others.
  6. Periodically review training materials with various supervisors to ensure materials remain accurate.
  7. Learn the operations of all new sewing contracts, administering sewing assessments to potential new hires.
  8. Provide safety training and new hire orientation to all new hires.

 

Marginal Job Functions

  1. Assist other department personnel as time and knowledge permit.

 Working Conditions

Production Manager (2nd Shift)

Production Manager

Manage manufacturing lab functions including, operations and safety within the Surfacing, Finishing, ARC, Shipping, and Stockroom departments during scheduled shift. Train and manage performance of staff to support KPI’s. Manage adequate staffing to meet business needs.

  1. Oversee functions in all areas of the Manufacturing facility, including Surfacing, Finishing, ARC, Shipping and Stockroom through all stages of production.
  2. Ensure breakage is analyzed and processes and procedures are developed and implemented to reduce breakage.
  3. Ensure proper staffing is maintained in all areas of responsibility.
  4. Ensure proper flow of work is maintained in the lab.
  5. Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure machinery is properly maintained and problems solve machine issues.
  6. Manage and execute all activities associated with respect to quality, customer service, cost, environmental, health and safety within assigned area.
  7. Responsible for driving results and achieving operational goals and targets identified in “Key Performance Indicators” (KPI).
  8. Achieve metrics and KPI’s to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Work closely with other staff members to maintain a well cross trained workforce.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching.

Education:

Optical Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift Available)

Maintenance Technician – Optical Lab

 

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Maintenance Tech supports maintenance initiatives by serving as the primary focal point for communications and maintenance activities. The Maintenance Tech also coordinates both routine and major maintenance shutdowns as required.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes work materials, writes work instructions, specifies safety needs, and optimizes the use of maintenance labor to maximize the performance and minimize the downtime of all lab equipment.
  • Identifies and procures parts and materials needed for planned work orders and PM work orders.
  • Writes purchase requests for repair and replacement parts, and contract services.
  • Prioritizes planned, preventive, predictive, and project maintenance activity for assigned lab areas in concert with production schedules and equipment maintenance needs.
  • Estimates labor requirements for all planned and preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with Operations, Technical, and Maintenance employees to organize and prioritize maintenance work.
  • Ensures weekend/downtime activities are coordinated.
  • Creates, or changes PM’s as needed.
  • Schedules maintenance activities with contractors on Preventative Maintenance on equipment.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years’ experience in a highly automated manufacturing, lean manufacturing/continuous flow operations.
  • Demonstrated a proficiency in the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Demonstrated ability for independent decision-making.
  • Flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and have the organizational skills necessary to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in problem solving and to lead the resolution of lab equipment problems.

Job Summary: Is responsible for the quality manufacture of eyeglasses by operating a variety of optical equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Reads computer generated and faxed prescription eyeglass orders.
  • Enter data from orders in the computer.
  • Assist lab editor in the production and fabrication of prescription eyeglasses.
  • Type names and addresses into the computer to generate shipping labels.
  • Trace frames on frame machine.
  • Assures that all specifications and quality procedures are followed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

  • Must have the disposition to be a team player.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, high stress area.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be willing to learn all of the laboratory equipment and be proficient in their operation.

Legally Blind Sewing Machine Operators

Position Description: Operates various types of sewing machines and sews to the proper specifications as outlined in the quality control procedure manual. Moves material from one section to another for maximum efficiency.

Reports To: Department Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Check all safety devices to assure they are in working order and in place at all times.
  • Check the quality of the work to assure that it meets all specification.
  • Retrieve and /or distribute materials as needed.
  • Notify supervisor of any quality or machinery problems.
  • Material Handling of raw materials and/or sub-assemblies is also a part of the duties for this position.
  • Operate various types of sewing machine proficiently, while achieving all production standards and goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Teacher of the Visually Impaired/Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist

TEACHER OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED/CERTIFIED ORIENTATION AND MOBILITY SPECIALIST POSITIONS

Location: Winston-Salem, NC

IFB Solutions, in conjunction with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) currently has two openings for Teacher of the Visually Impaired/Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist.  Applications are currently being accepted and will continue to be accepted until both positions have been filled.

BROAD SCOPE

Provide formal and informal training, guidance and assistance to educators, parents, service providers and agencies: as needed to a variety of students with visual impairments. Provide direct instruction to children with visual impairments. Serve as a resource to regular and Special Education teachers in designing short term instructional objectives as specified in the IEP.

  • Direct, train and supervise instructional aides: as assigned.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters relating to students and parents.

Education and Experience

 

MA/BS degree in Special Education with endorsement in VI or Visual Impairments and/or Orientation and Mobility is required. Extensive successful and responsible experience working with visually impaired youth in a school setting is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Experience in teaching Braille and very familiar with reading and writing Braille and Nemeth Code.
  • Knowledge and capable of operating and teaching Assistive Technology to students who are blind and/or severely visually impaired; i.e. JAWS,
  • ZOOMTEXT, Mobile Manager, Computer Programs, Digital Listening Devices and Braille Translation Software.
  • Experience in: performing Vision and Media Assessments and writing these reports.
  • Familiar with Orientation and Mobility concepts in order to provide direct instruction for the purpose of assisting visually impaired students to move about independently in the school and in the community, evaluate the progress of program participants and conduct on-going reviews of the IEPs.
