IFB Solutions started out in 1936 as Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind, a two-room shop with six blind workers.
Initial support from the local Lion’s Club and Goodwill Industries helped establish the IFB Solutions Winston-Salem Facility as one of the nation’s largest sites employing people who are blind or visually impaired.
Today, IFB Solutions as a whole employs nearly 1,000 people. Employees manage field operations for more than 30 optical dispensaries in VA hospitals and 18 Base Supply Centers on military bases and in federal office buildings. IFB Solutions’ 120,000-square-foot, ISO 9001:2008-certified facility in Winston-Salem offers nationally recognized high-tech optical services.
IFB Solutions Winston-Salem features:

- An optical center, repair lab and retail eyeglass store
- A Community Low Vision Center and retail store for low-vision products
