Tips for a Safe and Productive Workplace: Reporting Unsafe Practices and Accidents

IFB Solutions has put several processes in place to keep everyone safe at work. We have been sharing these tips weekly and would like you to please adhere to these rules. In the August 28 edition we shared guidelines regarding your personal devices. This week we share reporting unsafe practices and accidents. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
• Report all unsafe practices/conditions or faulty equipment to your supervisor immediately.
• Accidents, illnesses, injuries and near misses must be reported to your supervisor as soon as reasonably possible.
• ALWAYS wear safety glasses when using an air hose and when operating a sewing machine. If you misplace, break, or need to be issued a pair of safety glasses please report this to your supervisor.

Thank you,
Angela Jordan Director of Safety and Environmental Health

Here are your annual company picnic dates:

  • Winston-Salem: Thursday, October 5 at 12:00. There will be slots available for karaoke with songs that are no longer than 3 and a half minutes. It will be first come, first serve so don’t delay! To sign up contact Brenda Livingston at blivingston@ifbsolutions.org or X5694.

Stay tuned for more company picnic details!

Ordering Business Cards and Other Marketing Materials

The IFB Solutions marketing department orders business cards and other items like name tags, branded apparel, and door name plates. To request these items, log in to the ticketing system and select “marketing” here: https://support.ifbsolutions.org/servicedesk/customer/portals.

Please note, you must submit a ticket to order these items so we can ensure the information is accurate. If you are opening a ticket, the marketing department assumes your manager has approved the request and will charge your business unit “office supplies” budget accordingly. If you have questions regarding ordering marketing items, please send them to marketing@ifbsolutions.org. Thank you!

SEE campers enjoy time outside on the Mallory Park playground

The S.E.E. Day Camp Winston campers enjoyed their time at Nelson Malloy Park with climbing, swinging, sliding, running, and eating Moravian sugar cake with juice pouches to beat the heat of our last day together for the summer.

It’s back to school time again. S.E.E. After School is starting on Tuesday, September 5. Please do not park in the schoolhouse parking lot after 2 PM Monday through Thursday from September through June 6. This will ensure that we have spaces for our buses, parents, staff, and volunteers to park. It will also give plenty of room for us to unload students that use wheelchairs. We appreciate your respect and consideration.

Adult Support Group Meetings:

Braille class is moving to the schoolhouse starting Wednesday, September 6

For all braille students! Braille classes will no longer be held in the TADS room. Starting this week, September 6 classes will be held at the schoolhouse each Wednesday at 11:00am. Anyone who wants to learn the basics of Braille is welcome. For questions, contact Kim Shoffner at kshoffner@ifbsolutions.org or 336-245-5669.

Attention RP Support group members!

The September 6 meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 21 at noon. Chelsea Warr, Chapter Engagement Manager with Foundation Fighting Blindness, will be our guest speaker. Please bring your lunch and join us for great conversation! If you plan to attend, contact Diana Soto, RP Support Group President at dsoto@ifbsolutions.org or Shonn Redmond at sredmond@ifbsolutions.org or 336-245-5672.

Upcoming Support Group Meetings

  • Tuesday, September 5 VIPS Club meeting from 12:00-1:00 in TADS Room.
  • Wednesday, September 6 AAA Committee meeting from 12:00-1:00 in TADS Room.
