Access that Comes Home

Grant works with a child as part of the Focus on Literacy Program

IFB Solutions’ Focus on Literacy program helps K–12 students who are blind or visually impaired access assistive equipment at home, giving them the tools they need for homework, reading, communication and everyday activities outside the classroom.

Students may have assistive technology available at school, but larger equipment such as a CCTV or stand-alone reading apparatus can be difficult to transport each day. Focus on Literacy can help provide similar equipment for home use so students have more consistent access to the tools they need.

Focus on Literacy serves:

  • Students who are blind or visually impaired in grades K–12,
  • Who are living in the Triad or Western North Carolina,
  • And use assistive equipment at school and need similar access at home.
