Welcome to Tammy Powers, IFB Benefits Administrator!

Headshot for Tammy Powers

Beyond her professional endeavors, Tammy finds joy in outdoor activities like hiking and tennis. Married and a proud parent and grandparent, Tammy’s warmth and dedication will surely enhance our team. Let’s extend a warm welcome to Tammy in the upcoming weeks.

Congratulations to Employees Completing Basic JAWS Training

Mike Mote and Kim Shoffner, JAWS trainers, extend their congratulations to the latest graduates. Jackie Perrea and Colin Shouse have successfully completed the Basic JAWS training, Kudos to their commendable hard work and dedication to practice.

Reminder: General Assembly – Winston-Salem Facility Tuesday, May 7 at 11:00am

There will be a General Assembly meeting held on the manufacturing floor on Tuesday, May 7 at 11:00am. We’re looking forward to presenting employee of the month awards for February, March, and April as well as recognizing employees’ years of service and remarks from Dan Kelly, President and CEO.

Supervisors, please be sure to shut down all equipment, fans and other things that contribute to noise on the manufacturing floor promptly at 11:00am. If your workspace is not close to the central offices (outside Pedro Rojas and Edward Sykes’ doors), please move closer to ensure you can hear. Any office administration working in the building on May 7, your presence will be appreciated.

Asheville Facility Red Cross Blood Drive Wednesday, May 15

Donate “The Gift of Life” on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Your donations assist with heart surgeries, revitalizing accident victims, organ transplant recipients, and patients needing lifesaving procedures. So, will you raise your sleeve and help someone have a second chance in life?
If interested contact Melissa Berryhill to set up an appointment to donate.

Mattress and Pinnacle Mercantile Department Relocation

The Mattress and Pinnacle Mercantile departments have relocated to our Clemmons, NC Facility. This strategic move aims to enhance operational efficiency by centralizing both production and distribution processes. As raw materials are readily available at Clemmons, this transition enables seamless manufacturing and shipping operations. This move is not permanent; our current lease on the Clemmons Facility ends December 2025, and IFB leadership is actively working on consolidating all business lines and warehouse functions into the Winston-Salem Facility prior to that time. We appreciate your adaptability during this transition period.

11,000 Movies and Counting: submitted by The American Council of the Blind

In September 2023, the American Council of the Blind Audio Description Project’s catalog of films and series with audio description reached a milestone: 10,000 titles. Movies have been around for more than a century, so it was a pretty long wait to get to that number. But now, just seven months later, another thousand titles have been added, and there are more than 11,000 audio described films and series! Visit https://adp.acb.org/ to browse the catalog.
