We are pleased to announce that Elizabeth Blair joined the Asheville team on September 16 as a Seam Sealer in the Fuel Handler Suit department. She will be working under the supervision of Becky Branch. Let’s be sure to give her a warm welcome!

Reminder: JAWS Training Available

If you are ready to learn JAWS – Job Access With Speech – then now might be the time to begin training. This software is a screen reader for Windows based computers. You will need to complete homework assignments and practice your skills outside of class time. It is a challenging class but well worth the effort you put into it for very useful skills. Using the computer with JAWS is great for independence. To get started, ask your supervisor to put in a support ticket to HR to let them know you are interested in being evaluated for this training.

See what S.E.E. is Doing!

S.E.E. campers in a line holding each other’s shoulders

This wild dragon is trying to get his own tail. Can he, do it?

The S.E.E. campers lined up, held onto each other’s shoulders, and the head of the dragon tried to grab the scarf from the tail of the dragon. Everyone had fun twisting and turning in this fun event of the Tri Wizard tournament during Harry Potter week of S.E.E. Day Camp.

Get Ready to Protect Your Health—Flu Shot Season is Coming Soon!

While we’re still waiting for our supply of flu shots, now is the perfect time to prepare yourself for when they arrive in October 2024.

For individuals under 65, our health clinic will offer the standard dose of the Flu Vaccine (Inactivated influenza) to help you stay protected this flu season. People 65 and older are encouraged to consult with their primary care physician or schedule an appointment at their pharmacy for a higher-dose vaccine tailored to their needs.

Advantages of getting vaccinated include:

  • Boost your immunity against the flu.
  • Protect those around you by reducing the spread of the virus.
  • Minimize sick days and stay healthy all season.

Stay tuned for updates—we’ll let you know as soon as the flu shots are available. And remember, a Flu Vaccine Consent Form will be required before you receive your shot.

If you feel the need to get a flu shot before October, please visit your local pharmacy.

Let’s get ready to protect our health together!
